Spring has sprung!
Before I head out to the garden center to see if there's any kind of super-hardy ground cover that will hold up to my dog's wear and tear on the backyard, I thought I'd drop a note about some fun shows we have on the calendar for April. There are two new rooms on the list. I'm joining good friend and partner in crime -- the marvelous Meg Murray -- at Edgewater's Old Stein Inn on Friday, April 6th. This is a family-owned German restaurant, but not your dark pub variety. It's bright and airy and looks like a great spot for a beer and some jagerschnitzel (to be honest, I don't even know what that is, but it sounds like something that goes with beer). I also have a new outdoor afternoon show in Brandywine on Saturday, April 14th -- Romano Vineyard and Winery. April's 2nd Monday at 49 Songwriter Showcase is a must see. Returning acts Northern Outfit and Matt Hutchison are on the bill. I love these guys and you will too. Northern Outfit's self-deprecating reflections on life will make you grin and their intricate harmonies will mesmerize you -- four guys, four voices, and bluegrass instrumentation that comes off as both traditional and modern at the same time. These guys are lots of fun! And Matt Hutchison is not only one of my favorite local songwriters, but he also has the voice to deliver those songs honestly and with conviction. You will not be disappointed with this show! Stop in and see us. Early evening show -- starts at 7:30. If you come early, you might be able to catch Northern Outfit warming up in the parking lot ;)
